Located in the heart of the ancestral lands of the Coast Miwok, Black Mountain, also known as Elephant Mountain, is one of the most recognizable landmarks in West Marin, with rolling slopes rising between the town of Point Reyes Station to the west and Nicasio reservoir to the east.

Black Mountain Ranch is a 1,190 acre working agricultural enterprise on the western side of the mountain. It has been protected by the Marin Agricultural Land Trust (MALT) since 1993 and hosts, manages, or co-manages a diverse collection of agriculturalists, artists & non-profits at the intersection of regenerative agriculture, ecology and community health including:
